Another review for 'Whatever Gets You Through The Night'

... In this story Hildebrand is David a 45 year old mechanic from Rd Hook N.Y. who cannot seem to get a break.
Beseiged by a series of 4 am calls from the chippie he's ben dating, David is forced to deal with her immaturity as well as a next door neighbour bent on playing an electric guitar.
Hildebrands ability to assume the mental bleariness that comes from being awakened unexpectaedly is hilarious.
Where the first piece was offered directly to the audience, the script is almost exclusively performed as one half of a series of phone calls including those David makes to his girlfriend's brother each time she threatens to harm herself.
This is very difficult to master, and Hildebrand's deadpan delivery is so believable one completely forgets he is talkng into a prop.
Director Paula Malcomson steers Hildebrand down the right path as this somewhat surrreal situation never crosses the realm of the farcical.
This piece has a great twist that serves as the perfect button for the evenings entertainmant.
